COVID-19 UPDATE

Diana’s Daycare Center
5961 N. Clark
Chicago, IL. 60660

Dear Diana’s Daycare Families,

For the past few weeks, there has been growing concern regarding the COVID-19 (coronavirus) in the United States and the Chicagoland area. To date, children seem to be less likely to become ill. However, stopping transmission of the virus through everyday practices is the best way to keep our city, schools, and homes safe.
We want to thank all Families that are keeping their kids home when they are sick. We ask that this continues not just for COVID-19 prevention but for any flu- like symptoms that may occur. This helps prevent the other children and Staff from getting sick as well. If anyone in the household is sick we ask that you be aware that your child may get sick as well and please keep them home.
We are taking all precautions and will text and phone you if we feel that your child is sick. We are asking that any child with fever over 100.4 be kept home until they are fever free for 24 hours. If your child has a serious repeated cough, we will call you to pick them up immediately. If we find your child with fever at the daycare, we will notify you to come and pick them up immediately.
We are monitoring the updates closely from The Chicago Dept. of Health and Department of Human Services. We will stay open until we have heard otherwise from these two departments and the City.
We advise Families to begin making plans for school closures. Begin stocking food, water, diapers, wipes, medicine, for at least a month.
We are following the recommended rules and have been increasing our sanitizing of all surfaces in the classrooms, bathrooms, and hallways. We will be changing sheets weekly and ask for you to take home and wash blankets weekly as well. We encourage you to give a general talk with your child about washing hands, getting tissue when their noses are runny, and how to cover their mouth when coughing and sneezing.
We would also advise parents and employees before traveling to check the CDC Travelers Health Notices for the latest guidance and recommendations. CDPH strongly recommends avoiding travel to countries with level 3 travel notices, including layovers at airports. Children and adults returning from countries with a Travel Alert Level 3 may face some limitations on their movement and activity. Please follow instructions during this time. For more information see CDPH’s latest movement guidance at www.chicago.gov/coronavirus

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to text, call or talk to Vivian or Diana at any time.

Thank You,

Diana Anderson,   Director
