About Us

Diana’s Daycare is managed by owner Diana Anderson. Diana has worked in the Catholic School System from 1984 to 1994. She started as an Assistant Teacher, and after taking early childhood classes, began teaching Pre-school as a Head Teacher. Working in the school based early childhood program, Diana realized she could provide the same high quality education in her own home.

Diana’s Daycare started in August of 1994 with a license capacity of 8 children. After a few years in operation, Diana realized that most of her parents were enrolling infants, which uncovered her passion for infants and toddlers. So, she attended classes and workshops to get a better understanding of the needs of this age group. She continued enrolling infants, and became known by other daycares as a place to refer young infants.

Over the years, the daycare has increased in capacity to 16, the maximum number of children allowed.  There were also many current parents of Diana’s enrolled children that were having their second or even third child that would also need daycare, making it clear that Diana’s daycare would need to expand to handle the demand. Diana's Daycare Center is a result of this. We now have two rooms and have the capacity to take in more infants than before.

Philosophy

Diana’s Daycare Center is dedicated to providing quality care for Infants through Pre-school aged children. We provide a safe and warm nurturing environment where children can learn and grow.

Our skilled staff partners with parents to encourage each child’s emotional, intellectual, social, and physical well being.

We believe in a play-based, developmentally appropriate environment that inspires children to learn and interact with the world around them.

Curriculum

Our curriculum, based on the concept that children learn best through play, allows for free play periods during which the children choose from many available options how best to spend their time, reading, arts, and crafts, cooking, science activities and group games.

Because we want to help your children develop the skills necessary for later school achievement, our curriculum encourages independent thinking, developing close and meaningful relationships, learning from mistakes, and decision-making.

Our faculty is committed to the development and well-being of every child in our classroom and every staff member:

We adhere to the Illinois Licensing child to staff ratio: Infants: 4:1,  Toddlers/Preschoolers: 8:1
